School Workshops

Art & Craft

Art helps children understand more, express their ideas, and grow their creativity and imagination through different experiences.

Learning and practising art can boost a child’s confidence, help them express themselves, build resilience, and see the world in new ways.

Art classes give children a safe and supportive place to build fine motor skills, learn ways to handle challenges, solve problems, and connect with others.

During the workshops, students will try different art forms, including painting, printmaking, mixed media, and textiles.

Art activities will also help students explore themes such as the environment, nature, identity, culture, and social change, as they connect to everyday life.

Dressmaking

Sewing is a lifelong creative skill that enables children to create unique garments and express their individuality.

Engagement in sewing activities improves hand–eye–foot coordination, supports memory and higher-order cognitive skills, and enhances concentration while reducing hyperactivity.

Learning to sew is considered both therapeutic and environmentally conscious, fostering appreciation for the effort involved in garment production and promoting understanding of sustainability, climate change, and the value of clothing.

Participation in sewing activities cultivates satisfaction, self-esteem, and confidence among children.

Classes are accessible to all children, and instruction is tailored to accommodate individual learning paces.

Children start with introductory projects to acquire foundational skills, such as operating a sewing machine and understanding essential sewing concepts, before progressing to more complex garments, including skirts, tops, jackets, hoodies, and pants. They will also learn upcycling techniques, enabling them to transform old clothing into new designs.

Spanish language

Did you find learning a new language boring?

At Sew&Sow Creativity, we turn language learning into an adventure. Children don’t just sit and memorise words – they move, play, sing, act, and create. Through fun games, storytelling, role-play, songs, and hands-on activities, they naturally absorb new vocabulary and phrases without even realising they’re “studying.”

We bring this same playful approach to learning Spanish. Instead of focusing on worksheets and drills, children learn Spanish the way they learned their mother tongue: through authentic conversation, contextual repetition, and meaningful interaction. They’ll practice speaking, listening, and understanding Spanish through art projects, group games, and collaborative challenges.

In our sessions, children are encouraged to express themselves, make mistakes, and try again in a safe, supportive environment. This process not only strengthens their language skills but also builds confidence, resilience, and a sense of achievement. As they interact in Spanish, they also explore new traditions, stories, music, and ways of seeing the world.

By connecting language with culture, creativity, and play, Sew&Sow Creativity helps children:

  • Develop strong listening and speaking skills in Spanish

  • Gain confidence using a new language in real-life situations

  • Build self-esteem as they take risks and succeed

  • Cultivate curiosity about other cultures and perspectives. Discover that learning a new language can be fun, joyful, and inspiring.

With Sew&Sow Creativity, Spanish becomes more than just a subject – it becomes a doorway to new friendships, new ideas, and a bigger, more colourful world.
